The Future of Genomics

"Genomics is the study of the genomes of organisms. The field includes intensive efforts to determine the entire DNA sequence of organisms and fine-scale genetic mapping efforts." (-wikipedia)

The future economy of the U.S. looks bleak. (to put it nicely) Radical changes in our policies and spending habits have got to be made. At the same time the U.S. needs to increase it's technology research and out-put. Major changes are taking place as we speak and the U.S. is quickly getting left behind in what is being described as the technological revolution. When the smoke clears from this global recession, the major economic powers will be the ones with the best technological advantage and most technology out-put. -All of this of-course applies to all of the western countries, not just the U.S.. In this video Juan Enriquez gives a talk at the TED Conference about some of the profound changes that genomics will cause in business, technology, politics and society.
