Places you need to know about

This is a list of sites that you should know about if you are someone who uses the internet or a computer regularly. The internet has a lot to offer. The problem is that there is also so much junk out there that it is hard to find the good stuff. This is a list of some of the good stuff I have found.

NPR.org national public radio, where the real new is. You can listen online here.

OV Guide.com A list of sites where you can watch TV shows and movies online for free.

Buy.com If there is something your looking for you will probably find it here. Once you start doing your buying on the internet you realize that going to the store to buy something is a complete waste of time and money. Most the people I know realized this years ago and absolutely will not go out to stores to buy anything other then groceries, it's just plain stupid once you see the benefits of online shopping. Anyway Buy.com is one of those websites that just out does any real world store I know of. Buy.com has thousands of products, just about anything you can think of. I highly recommend joining the world of online shoppers.

Calculate your Impact Personal Impact Calculator. Use this global warming calculator to measure your household's greenhouse gas emissions.

Government Grants This site lists every available Government grant there is. You will be extremely surprised to see what you can get money for. This is another site we highly recommend.

K-lite Codec Pack If you are someone who likes to download or rip movies then I'm sure you have had codec problems. K-lite is the end of those problems. It's free, just download and install.

Comoestamos.com This is a very well done search engine/Directory. It is a good alternative to Google or Yahoo. It is also a good place to submit your website, if you want more traffic.

Engineseeker.com A great place to help you get your website on a lot of directories and search engines. We are talking thousands. You can sign up for a four day free trial.

poodwaddle.com A really cool site that offers some free 'counter' programs. Live and up to date Population(Birth/Death) counters and things like that. This is a place you have to see for yourself.

Newegg.com -The best place to buy computer/electronic products. Anybody who buys electronics should know about Newegg.com. Products here are easily 30% cheaper then in the stores. We highly recommend this site. Quite honestly you are stupid if you buy anywhere else, unless you have piles of money to waste or something.

Host your Web site with StartLogic! This is the site I host thinkersbebo from. I searched all around and this was the absolute best deal I could find. If your considering hosting check out some of their plans, I promise it will be worth it.

File Hippo.com If you are looking for any sort of free software this is the place to look. Spyware finders, Defragers, Anti-virus programs, ISO converters, DVD decriptors, and so-on and so forth.

Spybot Spybot search and destroy is the anti-spyware program to have. It's free to. Just download and install.

-cybercpu.net This site is for people interested in getting everything out of their PC. Here they teach you you how to do everything from over clock your system to configure a great raid setup. As far as I know they do not offer any advice for Mac users, but most Mac users are probably not interested in this sort of thing anyway.

-Pandora Radio Pandora offers you a chance to build your own radio station, in a way. You enter in the name of a song or a band and Pandora will find that band and tons of others that are similar. You can then listen to it for free. As you listen to each song you can tell it weather you like that song or not and the radio will adapt to your choices. This is a real cool site. It's perfect for work if you have the ability to listen to music and have access to the internet. An the best part is that it's all free.

-Blog Catalog If you are a blogger this is a great place to network. If you just like to read blogs this is a great place for that as well. I would say that it is similar to Myspace only it's only for people with their own blog websites.

-Icon Factory The best place I could find for downloading icons. If you want some new folder icons for your computer this is the place to go.

-Creative writing tips Pretty much self explanatory. Good place to get tips for creative writing.
